Join members of Americans for Safe Access - Maryland, on Sunday, October 4th and enjoy the lovely Takoma Park Main Street area for a day filled with music, fun, arts, crafts and family events.

Stop by and show your support for improvement to Maryland’s medical marijuana law. They can always use more volunteers to help spread awareness about the need to fix Maryland’s medical marijuana law.

The Street Festival is 3 blocks east of the Takoma Metro Station on the Red Line. When exiting the Metro station, head straight out the door and east on Carroll St., letting your ears guide you to the music...you can't miss us! Remember, the Festival will take place on Sunday, October 4th, 2009, from 10 to 5 pm, rain or shine.

New Jersey Man Faces 20 Years for Medical Marijuana

Proponents of medical marijuana gathered at the Somerset County Courthouse in Somerville to support a Franklin Township man who faces drug charges for growing marijuana in his backyard. John Ray Wilson, 36, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2002, but because he does not have health insurance, he says he cannot afford prescription medicines. 

Medical Marijuana is Attracting Entrepreneurs

Recent events lead me to believe that legalization of Medical Marijuana may be inevitable. This morning I read a Press Release from Marketwire which announced that Medical Marijuana, Inc. has signed agreements with additional Medical Marijuana Collectives in California to provide point of sale (POS) systems which "helps businesses that are dispensing medical marijuana more efficiently and securely manage the tasks of revenue and taxation collection. "

Medical Marijuana, Inc.'s "Stored Value Platform System" enables businesses to manage their sales and to pay taxes via Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions which can occur on a daily basis.

Additionally, Michigan held a medical marijuana expo last weekend which was professionally organized and attended by approximately 1,000 people seeking information about this fledgeling industry.

With current unemployment rates being the highest since the Great Depression, and interest being generated among people who are out of work the genie may be out of the bottle.
