It may take a long time for logic to take hold in our democracy, however, it appears that we may be moving toward a rational cease fire in our war on medical marijuana users.

Tolerance

Merriam-Webster.com lists one definition of "tolerance" as, "sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one's own."

Lately I have been struggling with how marijuana prohibition has lasted so long despite all of the evidence that prohibition doesn't achieve the goals of those who support prohibition and the fact that prohibition has always done more harm than good to every society that has implemented a policy of prohibition.

Managing Crohn's Disease with Medical Marijuana

I came across a video of a brave young lady who shared her story on YouTube. She is suffering from Crohn's disease and uses Marijuana to deal with her symptoms from Crohn's disease and the negative side effects she experiences from her medications.

According to www.chronsonline.com, Crohn's "currently affects an estimated 500,000 people in the United States, Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation or swelling of the digestive tract, also known as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

Crohn's disease can affect any part of the GI tract, though it usually occurs at the end of the small intestine, also known as the ileum, and the beginning of the large intestine, also known as the colon. 

Crohn's disease often is mistaken for other GI disorders that cause similar symptoms, such as ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)."

What if this young lady was your sister or daughter? Should we through her in prison? 

Does she need to be court ordered to a substance abuse rehabilitation program?

Our society has already sentenced her. I hope that she doesn't get hurt, or worse, trying to purchase marijuana, because that would truly be a crime!

New Jersey Man Faces 20 Years for Medical Marijuana

Proponents of medical marijuana gathered at the Somerset County Courthouse in Somerville to support a Franklin Township man who faces drug charges for growing marijuana in his backyard. John Ray Wilson, 36, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2002, but because he does not have health insurance, he says he cannot afford prescription medicines.

Prescription Drug Deaths Increase

Prescription drug illnesses and deaths have hit an all time high according to the Institute for Safe Medication Practices.
